According to the recent official notification from Sedex, starting from June 1st, 2023, the authorization fee for SMETA audits will be increased from £50 to £80. It is important to note that for audits scheduled on or before June 1st, 2023, and initiated on the Sedex platform, the old fee of £50 will still apply. Companies requiring SMETA audits are advised to contact audit bodies promptly to make arrangements.
This is the first adjustment to the authorization fee by Sedex since 2018. As stated in Sedex's announcement, the fee increase will support significant investments required for the development of the Sedex platform, the creation of new digital audit tools, and enhancements to the SMETA methodology. These improvements will provide higher service value for Sedex members, audit partners, and stakeholders.
