What products can be certified?

Recycled materials can apply STANDARD 100

Starting in 2021, OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 incorporates recycled materials into the certification system, specifies the minimum amount of recycled materials in the product, and uses different testing procedures depending on the source of the material and the necessary background information. The tags thus issued help consumers understand the contribution of resource recovery in a circular economy. Because recycled materials are difficult to certify, they face different challenges than brand-new raw materials, given that they have already consumed part of their life cycle. Therefore, the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 makes a distinction between recycled materials and will be specifically stated in the certificate.

Validity period of certificate

Is 12 months and can be renewed for one year three months before the certificate expires. Renewal is recommended to ensure continuous safety and smooth connection of products throughout the textile chain.
