GOTS Global Organic Textile Standard certification

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading global standard for the processing of organic fibre textiles, including ecological and social standards, backed by independent certification throughout the textile supply chain. The aim is to ensure the organic status of textiles, from the harvesting of raw materials to environmentally and socially responsible production to labelling, providing reliable assurance to the final consumer. The standard covers the processing, manufacture, packaging, labelling, trade and distribution of all textiles made from at least 70% certified organic natural fibres.

Including: raw materials, production process, packaging and transportation, inputs (including auxiliary materials, dyeing and chemical materials, processing AIDS, etc.), production records, social standards, environmental management, quality control (including technical quality parameters and residue detection) and other contents.

Basic requirements for GOTS certification

• Certified products contain 70% organic fiber;

• Certification of recognized international or national standards (EU standards, NOP standards, etc.);

• Limit the use of transitional fibers;

• Minute institutions need to be conducted in accordance with ISO65 or accredited by the International Federation of Organic Farming Movements.

Audit results and expiration date

GOTS is divided into two types: qualification certificate and sales certificate. The validity period of the qualification certificate is 1 year. The annual supervision and review of the sales certificate is the organic cotton certificate of each batch of products.

What is a TC transaction certificate

After the GOTS certificate is passed, before the product is traded, each batch of goods should apply to the certification body for TC trading certificate. Its purpose is to confirm that the entire supply chain of the product production and trading are in line with the GOTS certification standards.
